Walking Dreams Wins IFI Award... A very talented and very young Irish film director, Evan Barry, ran away with the Audience Award at the Stranger Than Fiction documentary film festival at the IFI last weekend. With a poignant piece featuring his popstar girlfriend and classically trained ballerina, Sophie Leniston, 'Walking Dreams' was the stand-out short by the Dublin film student... Evan Barry, Ursula Barry The Stranger Than Fiction documentary film festival ended with on a high note at the weekend when the talents of our emerging film directors were put on show in the IFI. An emotive movie called 'Walking Dreams' won the audience's approval and took away the most popular award during the marathon screening session in Temple Bar on Sunday. Evan Barry, Ian Hunt Duffy (Producer) Evan's short features his girlfriend Sophie Leniston (from UK girlband 'City Girls') performing as a lone dancing ballerina going through the range of elegant yet physically difficult ballet moves illustrated with a choppy mixture of wide and ultra tight camera angles. Tara Leniston, Evan Barry Over the exquisitely beautiful images of the dancer performing on screen, there is the stark voice of Evan's mother Ursula Barry narrating her life since waking-up one morning without the use of her legs due to cancer in her spine. A very brave and contrasting piece work by the 21 year old director, bravo to all concerned. Tara Lensiton Sophie Leniston could not attend the screening on Sunday as she's in England touring with her popular girlband. Her actress sister Tara Leniston flew in for Dublin Premiere, she also helped to choreograph the perfect little movie...
